Your FD won't have a DPF and doesn't need adblue.

General Chat / Re: Hyundai service plans, are they worth it?
« Last post by WAFU on August 14, 2024, 14:45:40 »I've just taken out my second three year service plan whch also includes 3 MOT's. In my opinion, it's well worth the money. Means the cost of scheduled services are fixed for three years and therefore not subject to price increases. Also the same for the MOT's.
Should items require attention that aren't included in a normal service, such as brake pads, brake discs, worn track rod ends, etc, YES there will be additional costs. Filters and fluids will be covered in the service plan. Also you get the benefit of the breakdown cover by having the car serviced under the Hyundai Essentials Service plan. Home start, Roadside assistance, Recovery to a garage within 10 miles of the breakdown.
One potential drawback is paying up front to get the best price. Can make a dent in your finances if you're not prepared for it. Yes you can pay by monthly instalments but as with most instalment plans, there is an additional cost.

I bought 6 services and 3 MOT's when i bought my Tuscon new, never had to pay for anything and just drop the car off and pick it up. You have to have them serviced at the correct times i.e. 10K or yearly and I did the first 10K in 8 months and then had second one done around 9 months later (if you work out home many mls roughly you will do help decide on how many to buy) you can cross check costs with dealer they will give you the prices.
All the costs are covered for the standard servicing things like battery key fob changes aren't and air con service plus the obvious like disk and pads wear and tear items .

« Last post by I30Sean on August 13, 2024, 19:25:18 »Hi both mine are keyless entry and I have a faraday box that came with two pouches for the spare keys. I would certainly recommend having them for at home.

General Chat / Smart Keys and security....
« Last post by pjgtech on August 13, 2024, 14:44:11 »Hi, my i20 Ultimate has "smart keys".
Can they be cloned?
I have read conflicting advice, some say if you still have to press a button om the key fob, which I think I do to unlock the doors, then it cannot be cloned.
The Hyundai manual does not mention whether they can be cloned or not.
Do I need one of those Faraday pouches to keep my key in?
