General Chat / i30 sudden increase in revs
« Last post by mapman on November 18, 2023, 15:53:11 »
I30 on acceleration in 5th gear will suddenly increase revs and indicate change down to 4. Then quickly settles back. Appears to lose power momentarily but difficult to assess.
Any ideas what is likely to be the problem? Thanks

When I had my ix20 I put more pressure that stated into each tyre and then lowered the pressure to the factory pressure.. mine told me which tyre was low so didn't need to do all four.. take the car for a drive and it should reset its self..

General Chat / I20 tpms light
« Last post by Sueh on October 30, 2023, 16:31:37 »
I have an i20 2017 that does not have a tpms reset button. Was told by main dealer to increase pressure and the light should go out after about 20 miles. The light stayed on so I went and had a check on the sensors. Sensors ok, tyre pressure increased but still light stays on. Any ideas?

Have you tried any local car scrap yards.

If you call in and they don't have one they  usually, well they do by me, tell you where to try or they may be able to source one for you from their contacts in the trade.

General Chat / Wing Mirror (complete) - RH - 2017 i20 (UK) - where to buy?
« Last post by ret.phone2017 on October 29, 2023, 13:16:55 »
I am struggling to locate a complete new wing mirror for my i20. Hyundai have quoted over £400, so I need to find a cheaper option. Either new or used. I have been on eBay and struggling to locate anything in the UK. I have found an Indian supplier, but for both LH and RH for over £200 new (I only need RH). I am not keen to buy given the supplier is not UK-based and it is still a lot of money. I have tried online motor factors, but I am struggling to locate anything.

Any suggestions?

I have a 2017 i20 1.2 SE MPI 5 door petrol.

I thought this would be handy to have .. it gives info on the right grade of oil for your Hyundai car engine and the amount of oil you need..   8) doesn't give all the uk models just some of them.. you can do a search in the second link..

General Chat / Newbie about to buy an i20
« Last post by Cheesemaker on October 16, 2023, 20:18:15 »
Hi,
I recently went to view a 2012 plate i20, I noticed rust coming through on the tailgate next to the wiper and rust around the front door handle. I didn’t think much more about it until I looked at another which had the same issue. I've done a bit research and found it seems a common problem particularly on white models, owners complained of having repairs done multiple times and the rust coming back through after a few months. My question is, is this something that only happens randomly or is it certain years that were affected. I currently have my eye on a 2014 model which looks clean on the pictures but may have had the repair work done. Thank you in advance.

General Chat / Dating an imported vehicle
« Last post by Chummers25 on October 13, 2023, 13:03:45 »
I've imported a 2013 Veloster from Singapore and the sellers have stopped responding to my messages and left me without a crucial piece of documentation.
In order to register it I require an 'expert' from a vehicle owners club or enthusiasts club to date the vehicle.
Does anyone in the community have the credentials to do that or know someone who can?
Thank you in advance for any help provided.

General Chat / Re: Hyundai i20 2011 model ABS problem

Hi Fergie777

My daughters i20 has had two ABS sensors changed apparently (I think) the near side rear is normally the first to go and causes lights to come on, she had a second one go about 18 months later this was the near side front.
