Long story short..My i40 has developed a crack in the plastic covering over the instrument panel.The supplying dealer says its a stress fracture and they only cover them for 6 months. Or in reality` Its a fiddly job worth diddlysquat at warranty rates`...
Escalated it to Hyundai UK who took a different view. They spoke to the dealership/got fobbed off (delete as applicable) and told me they stand by the dealer and cannot do anything..Hmm I then asked to speak to a manager in the UK warranty team to be told they do not actually have one..All dealers are autonomous and make their own decisions re warranty claims not Hyundai.....They told me to take it to another dealer and if they ok the repair Hyundai will pay..what??
Now this is the season of make belief but I think this is stretching it a bit far. Anybody else got experience/views on this please...If so and there is no one to appeal to after the dealer, most of whom are less than stellar and Kia no better, then next time it wont be a Hyundai. First and last..
