Parking Brake Mountings
« on: May 16, 2024, 20:17:07 »
I have run a 2012 Santa Fe from new with no great issues ( apart from a mystery rear door lock issue) but my trusted mechanic advised me that the steel mounts that hold the hand brake pads in place had corroded. He called the distributor for a price and was told they were £238 plus vat - EACH!! There are not non Hyundai parts on the market. I rang around and was told the same thing.

I queried this with Hyundai today. Their line is that the dealers set the price. I pushed back on this and they insist it’s true even though I said it can’t be correct. They then stoped replying. My understanding is that this is a simple pressed steel part. Does anyone have any insight into parts  pricing or know of any less well known suppliers of non branded Hyundai parts.

Cheers
