Smart Keys and security....
« on: August 13, 2024, 14:44:11 »
Hi, my i20 Ultimate has "smart keys".

Can they be cloned?

I have read conflicting advice, some say if you still have to press a button om the key fob, which I think I do to unlock the doors, then it cannot be cloned.

The Hyundai manual does not mention whether they can be cloned or not.

Do I need one of those Faraday pouches to keep my key in?

Hi both mine are keyless entry and I have a faraday box that came with two pouches for the spare keys. I would certainly recommend having them for at home.
