Can i buy a transponder and ignition barrel off a second hand car to fit to my car  without replacing the ecu? my car is a 1999 Hyundai coupe mark 1 1.6 16valve.

You need to find a decent car locksmith and check with them. I recently used Bournemouth Car Keys for a duplicate key blade and transponder. Service was excellent.

Some cars have remotes programmed via a module under the steering column. Others require diagnostic tools.
