Value of an i30 diesel
« on: August 20, 2019, 06:28:53 »
So I'm trading my i30 in for no other reason than the amount of money it's losing. Seems the media have succeeded in scaring everyone away from diesels. The i30 is a great car but being a diesel and the size of it not a super mini or SUV no one wants them. Such a shame.

Your going to lose money whichever way you do it, trade it in or run it.
Seems everyone has gone green all of a sudden with many great diesel cars becoming the scourge of mankind even though, with particulate filters and ad-blu, many diesels are cleaner than their petrol equivalents.
There was an article some months ago comparing a 44t Mercedes truck to a 1.0 VW polo and the truck was cleaner, much cleaner.
Personally, unless you want to run newer cars, I would keep the one you have got.
Better the devil you know.

Your right but losing the amount it is at the moment its gone. Traded in for a new Kona Premium SE petrol. I'm doing less miles now as well so no brainer really. Really liked the i30 though. Cracking car. Even the petrol's don't hold value well. Size of them don't appeal to people anymore.
