Yes was on the cards. Shame really as they never marketed it properly. Certainly the saloon should have been a hatch, but having it designed in Germany rather than Korea was a big plus. Number of people have thought mine was a Merc or BMW and been suprised when I told them.
It was a strength they never played to. Certainly well designed and screwed together with a very adequate diesel, in the 141 bhp version at least, comfortable roomy quiet.Plenty of safety features including high tensile steel doors. Full of bells and whistles from SE Nav upwards and one of the few cars you can actually get 3 kiddie seats in the back of!!......which is why I bought one.
